Y-Festivaali, a festival of generation Y, started out as a gallery project with a small group of art students from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. It soon grew up to be a full festival showcasing our generation’s talent from various fields of culture and arts.

From 2012 to 2013 the festival was held in Näsilinna, which had by then been closed for 14 years due to its bad condition. In 2013 the city started to renovate the place and opened its doors for public again in 2015.

Since 2014 Y-Festivaali has taken place in several locations in the heart of Tampere.
